Al Nasr secured a thrilling victory with a goal from Ronaldo.
Al Nasr experienced a dramatic turn of events in their match
against Al Shabaab in the Saudi Pro League last night. With the score tied at
1-1 and time running out, it seemed Al Nasr would settle for a draw. However,
just before the final whistle, they were awarded a penalty.
Cristiano Ronaldo confidently converted the spot kick,
sending the goalkeeper the wrong way and putting Al Nasr ahead 2-1. The Al Nasr
fans began to believe in a victory.
Yet the drama didn’t end there. Shortly after, Al Shabaab
earned a penalty of their own, but Abderrazzak Hamdallah missed the opportunity
to equalize, sealing Al Nasr's win.
In a match filled with tension, Al Nasr had led until the
90th minute when Aymeric Laporte scored in the 69th minute. However, Ali
Alhasan's own goal brought Al Shabaab back into contention. Despite this, Al
Nasr held on for the three points.
With this victory, Al Nasr is now second in the league with
17 points from seven matches, boasting five wins and two draws. Al Shabaab sits
fourth with four wins and three losses.
Ronaldo’s penalty goal brought his tally to 55 in 54 games
for Al Nasr, along with 15 assists. His career total now stands at 907 goals.
Following the match, Ronaldo shared several photos on social media, captioning
them, “We never give up.”
